Lara Morar is a German-Romanian actress, writer and musician based in Paris. With a strong inclination for comedy and golden age cinema, her focus lies on exploring nostalgia in modern times.
Thanks to her parents who are both working in the creative field, Lara was exposed to the arts from an early age. Her name, that originated from Julie Christie's portrayal of Lara Antipova in the 1965 movie Doctor Zhivago foreshadowed her own wish to become an actress.
In her hometown Cologne, she soon felt inspired to experiment in front of the camera and on stage, joined the ballet and appeared in local theaters - as humans, creatures and sometimes even abstract art installations. She always had great pleasure in portraying the latter and as a voice actress she lent her voice to many interesting characters.
As she got older Lara learned to play several instruments and with increasing musical skill, she started writing songs. She appeared in regional concerts and events and as she grew more experienced in the field, she also gave busking a try; the proceeds being donated to her favorite non profit organization in Romania.
After graduating Gymnasium, Lara was able to gain precious experiences in the film and television industry, where she developed a sense for space, movement and presence in front of the camera. Additionally, she attended the Josef Metternich School of Music from 2012 to 2020.
Lara is currently writing her first stage play and will carry on to work as an actress. Moreover, she is studying theatre at Cours Florent Paris. Aside from acting, she is ardent about environmentalism and animal welfare.
